MyOSA – Sleep Appliance
Getting a proper night's sleep is important for overall health and well-being including mood, energy levels, ability to regulate stress and emotions. Chronic sleep deprivation caused by sleep disorders like Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) has been associated with the causes of life-shortening events such as heart disease or stroke.
MyOSA is a range of oral appliances that can help address the underlying issues of OSA by correcting poor oral habits, tongue position, and posturing the lower jaw slightly forward which helps keep the nasal airway open during sleep. Physical training exercises are an important activity as part of the MyOSA system. Altogether, many patients find the MyOSA system more convenient than a CPAP device, which is typically recommended for obstructive sleep apnea.

Before & After Myofunctional Therapy
Check out some of the results we have seen when patients follow a myofunctional therapy program! Myofunctional Therapy strengthens the muscles of the mouth and face allowing for proper development of the airway, jaw, and teeth. Typically, patients will start to see results after just a few months.
Before: Patient is 7 years old and displays an open bite, lower anterior crowding, narrow lower arch, over jet, and thumb sucking habit.
After: Using Myobrace for 18 months the patient now has developed wider arches, better alignment of lower teeth, decreased overjet, and eliminated thumb sucking habit.
Before: Patient is 9 years old and has a deep bite (large overbite), wear and tear on the teeth (grinding), and not quite enough space for adult teeth to come in straight. Patient is a mouth breather and snores, and also has a strong tongue thrust, and tight jaw muscles.
After: In the Myobrace Program for 1 year, the patient now has an improved overbite and teeth are being guided into proper position through natural growth. Clenching and grinding have been reduced, tongue thrust and tight muscles are improved.
Before: Patient has a large overbite and overjet, and narrow arches. There is a large space between upper front teeth as well as flared upper front teeth. Patient shows signs of grinding, tongue thrust, and tight facial muscles and is a mouth breather.
After: In the Myobrace Program for 15 months, the patient's arches have rounded out and the space between the front teeth is decreased as well as the flare. There is enough space for adult teeth. Patient's bite is level and all habits have improved.
